‘Haste makes Waste’ – Arranged Marriage Dilemma

Meeting new people and learning new things isn’t something I have always been doing. But lately, after I have involved myself a bit too much on my blog I have added blogger friends and I have exchanged numbers with a few. It’s good to discuss things that motivates you and fascinates. I have been on virtual dates for a while now. There have been guys my mom had hooked me up with. Most of them from acquaintances.

My family is trying to play smart with me. They are introducing me to really cute guys and then expecting me to fall in love with one of them and then maybe get married and make my relatives grandparents. These virtual dates are of no good for me to fall in love.

T is the new guy my mom is trying to hook me up with. My aunts are full support to my mom. I spoke to T over the phone. He has a good and sexy voice. I have seen his picture. He is overweight and cute (the way I like it). He has been honest enough about his love life and past relationships. He asked me a few personal questions too, which were well answered by me (I suppose). We spoke for a week over Whats App, and then I told him a small little secret about me.  Worse part was that he was still okay with it. I was looking forward to cancel the entire arrangement. Why?

One, because I am in no mood to get married by the end of the year. T on the other hand wants to get married by the end of 2013.

Two, I have got a suspicion for the hurry he and his family has for the marriage.

Three, he is cute but his pic gives me a negative vibe. (Also, my best friend thinks the same). Obviously one person can be wrong , but two???

Four, I don’t want to get married to someone I hardly know. And one year is too less to know someone.

Five, I haven’t done the things that I can do as long as I am Single.

Well, I am all set to say no and remove some way to call off this arrangement. Best of luck to me on this one. And worst part, he hates Reading!

Anyway Ciao! Keep Blogging! Keep Reading!

P.S.: i have bought one of those nerd glasses and i am loving them. Also some days back I took out the top my mom detests a lot and paired it up with leggings and high heels and looked like super star. got a close up of that day… posting it up here…

‘Next time remember that it is you who have to marry the guy not your best friend.’

Four, I don’t want to get married to someone I hardly know. And one year is too less to know someone.

‘No matter the number of years you have known anyone, you will never know him/her wholly. You don’t even know you completely for sure because you suprise yourself once in a while.’

Five, I haven’t done the things that I can do as long as I am Single.

‘Yes, that is one hell of a genuine reason. start doing the things that you want to do being single coz there are lot more that u can do when you are married.’

I face this delimma everyday at home. My parents keep discusssing me with ideal daamad and his parents. I don’t pick up calls, answer emails/messages, don’t come home on time if the damaad and family come over, or dont go meet anyone……….. because, i am born to stay single and make the most of my life happily. It is a blessing if you are single….the grass is always green where u stand 😀

  2. Haste makes Waste. good 1. i wish our parents understood this. Choosing a partner is a big responsibility and challenge. it takes time. Am not revolting against early marriage, arranged marriage/love marriage, but the era of is long gone or atleast is going to be.
Anyway, the guy u r supposed 2 choose, tell him about ur opinion but only after knowing his 😉 Maybe he is also coerced for early marriage, which if he agrees to, will have 50-50 chances 2 uphill or downhill. It might become a burden if compatibility is not good enough.
By the way, u looking great (y) in those glasses 🙂 100 (y)
